The Cure arrived at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View for the first time in seven years, playing the first of two nights on May 27th. Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Jason Cooper, Roger O’Donnell, Perry Barmonte, and Reeves Gabrels played to a sold out capacity crowd of emos, goths, and new wavers, especially delighting longtime fans with a deep catalog and a 29-song set with two encores, including tracks like “A Forest,” and “Lovesong,” and then closed the night with “Just Like Heaven” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”
The Cure were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, and in 2023 steered over to the business side of the industry when they defeated Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing tiers by setting low base prices in favor of fan wallets rather than Ticketmaster’s and their own, and became role models for other bands hoping to accomplish the same.
Robert Smith and band continue to spread their beloved music across the US through the beginning of July – get the latest up to date information at www.thecure.com.
