On January 25, 2025, Collective Soul electrified The Venue at Thunder Valley, marking a pivotal moment in their 30th-anniversary tour. Celebrating their storied career, the band showcased a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy with their newly released Here to Eternity double-live album from 2024.

The crowd’s anticipation reached a fever pitch as the band took the stage. Singer Ed Roland strolled out with his arms wide open, welcoming the full house of fans.

Kicking off the night with the intimate and heartfelt “Mother’s Love,” the band set a reflective tone that resonated deeply with longtime fans. Roland’s vocals soared, capturing the essence of the song, while the band’s tight instrumentation laid a solid foundation that would define the evening.

Following that heartfelt opener, the atmosphere shifted dramatically into excitement from the fans with the performance of their iconic hits “Heavy” and “Shine.” The crowd erupted into a sing-along, with everyone joining in on the anthemic chorus that has become a hallmark of Collective Soul’s legacy. Adding an unexpected twist, the band seamlessly wove in a snippet of Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge,” injecting a burst of classic rock nostalgia into the mix. This clever homage not only showcased the band’s versatility but also highlighted their ability to connect with their audience in a meaningful way.

The setlist continued to flow with a perfect blend of fan favorites and newer tracks from their latest album. Hits like “The World I Know” and “Bluer Than So Blue” were met with roars of approval, while songs from Here to Eternity illustrated the band’s evolution over three decades. Their sound, rich with layered harmonies and driving guitar riffs, felt both timeless and contemporary.

Visually, the concert was a feast for the senses. A stunning light show complemented the music, with vibrant colors enhancing the overall experience. The Venue at Thunder Valley, known for its intimate setting, allowed for an up-close connection between the band and the audience, making the night feel personal and unforgettable.

Throughout the evening, Roland’s charisma and stage presence were undeniable. He engaged the crowd with stories from their journey, reflecting on the band’s growth and gratitude for their dedicated fanbase. The camaraderie among band members was palpable, and their chemistry translated into a performance that felt both polished and spontaneous.

As the concert drew to a close, Collective Soul delivered a powerful performance of “Where the River Flows,” followed by “December,” and ended the perfect evening with “Run.”

The final moments of the night were filled with an overwhelming sense of joy and celebration—a fitting tribute to 30 years of music and memories. As fans left the venue with smiles on their faces, it was clear that Collective Soul continues to shine brightly in the world of rock music. Here’s to another 30 years of Collective Soul!
