The Dandy Warhols and Kula Shaker co-headlined the stage at The Bellwether in Los Angeles on October 6, 2025 for a fun night of music with a packed house of longtime fans.

Kula Shaker opened the show and it was a fun trippy time right off the bat, with psychedelic visuals projected on the back of the stage, artfully programmed by Lance Gordon (@themadalchemistliquidliteshow). Singer Crispian Mills was a little under the weather as announced by bassist Alonza Bevan, but his voice was in fine form and he jumped around like he was fit as a fiddle. The band played favorites like “Taatva,” and “Hush,” and even threw a little Happy Mondays “Hallelujah” into the mix. They talked about traveling the US and the indivisible/dividedness of it, and played a song called “idon’twannapaymytaxes” while throwing fake money into the crowd. They’re a fun, crowd-pleasing band to see live, and their sound and musicianship has more than held up over the years. They’ll be releasing a new album in 2026 called Wormslayer.

The Dandy Warhols next took to a darkened stage and jumped into “Ride,” then for second song “You Were The Last High” stopped it a little early and restarted it after lead singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor forgot a verse. The crowd loved it, and loved it again when while playing “Styggo” they stopped it in the middle and then resumed, and also when keyboardist Zia McCabe took a bathroom break and drummer Brent DeBour followed her, so Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmstrom took the opportunity to do an acoustic version of “Every Day Should Be A Holiday.” I think it’s great when a band is comfortable enough to be themselves on stage and stop and start when needed, and fans love anything unscripted because it ties everyone together in a human way.

The show sounded great, but it was an incredibly dark stage, and one can only assume that the band members didn’t want to be spotlit or seen, and desired to share their musical gifts under cover of an absence of light. The 19-song set ended after about an hour fifteen, with McCabe closing with “Free Palestine, fuck ICE, keep supporting artists!”

The North American leg of this tour ended in Los Angeles, with Kula Shaker continuing on for a quick trip to KEXP in Seattle, which we should all keep an eye out for an in-studio on YouTube soon.
