Friday Pilots Club and Circa Waves on a double headlining bill at August Hall in San Francisco? Yes please.

May 8, 2025 brought both bands plus San Francisco’s own Sun Casino as opener to the Hall, and the fans were more than ready for the 18-song set Friday Pilots Club put down. Buzzing against the barricade, the all-ages group watched bandmates Caleb Hiltunen, Drew Polovick, Sean Burke, James Kourafas, and Eric Doar synced up and working their magic, which at times felt reminiscent of Nothing But Thieves, but happier.

The set was 2024’s album Nowhere-heavy, and we got to hear favorites like “Spectator,” “Trading Punches,” and “Life Support,” plus a slow-down with some soaring vocals on “Would You Mind.” At the end of the night Caleb hopped into the crowd and gave the front row folks a personal experience, singing to them and with them, giving them a live music experience they’ll never forget.

After the band closed the night with an encore of “Gold and Bones,” the excited crowd filed out, wearing their new merch, happy to have spent the evening with such a fun and energetic band on a spring night in San Francisco.
