On a crisp April evening in San Francisco, the iconic venue The Chapel buzzed with anticipation as fans gathered to witness the electric performance of Starbenders. Known for their dynamic sound that blends glam rock with modern indie influences, the Atlanta-based band delivered a night to remember.

As the lights dimmed and the opening chords of “Nothing Ever Changes” echoed through the venue, the crowd erupted in cheers. Frontwoman Kimi Shelter, clad in a dazzling black polka dot blouse outfit, commanded the stage with an infectious energy that was impossible to ignore. Her powerful vocals soared over the pulsating rhythm, captivating the audience from the very first note.

The setlist was a well-curated mix of fan favorites and tracks from their latest album, Take Back The Night, which had just been released in 2023. Songs like “If You Need It” and “We’re Not Ok” showcased the band’s growth, with lush harmonies and anthemic choruses that had the audience singing along.

Midway through the performance, the band took a moment to engage with the crowd, sharing anecdotes about their journey and the inspiration behind their music. This personal touch resonated deeply with fans, creating an intimate atmosphere despite the rockstar vibes. Guitarist and co-vocalist Kriss Tokaji displayed impressive guitar solos that added an extra layer of excitement, particularly during the “Instrumental Jam,” which had the crowd swaying and dancing.

The rhythm section, featuring original co-founding member Aaron Lecesne on bass and 2023’s newest addition, Qi Wei on drums, is a show in itself. Both artists are among the best around and were sonically in sync, amplifying the band’s live performance.

The lighting design complemented the music beautifully, with vibrant colors and dynamic patterns that enhanced the overall experience. Each song’s mood was perfectly reflected in the visuals, creating a feast for the senses.

As the night progressed, the band demonstrated their versatility, transitioning from high-energy songs like “Sex” to more introspective ballads like “Cherry Wine.” These moments of vulnerability highlighted the band’s depth and showcased Shelter’s emotive vocal range.

The encore brought the house down, with a rousing rendition of their hit single “Blood Moon.” The audience erupted in applause, singing along fervently as the band played their hearts out. It was a fitting conclusion to a spectacular evening, leaving fans buzzing with excitement long after the last note faded.

Overall, Starbenders at The Chapel was a triumphant display of talent, charisma, and connection. They not only proved their status as rising stars in the music scene but also solidified their place in the hearts of their fans. If this concert was any indication, the future looks bright for Starbenders, and we can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next.
