bbno$, aka Baby No Money, brought the party to the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on March 20 on his It’s Pronounced Baby No Money tour. Jungle Bobby opened the night and riled up the crowd with his brand of party music enthusiasm, and by the time he took his leave everybody was revved up for their favorite headliner.

bbno$, or @bbnomula, or Alex to his friends, is a master at party energy and atmosphere. The venue was packed and his fans were sweaty and hyped, and he led the crowd through a 25-ish song set (lots of medleys and shortened tracks were happening) which included favorites “Edamame,” “It Boy,” and “C’est La Vie,” plus a fun Miley Cyrus “Party in the USA” cover.

A third of the way through he called out for guest singer volunteers for a Yung Gravy song, and after triple-checking she could handle the lyrics a young woman joined him on stage and they banged out a fun duet for “shining on my ex.” A little while past that he told the crowd that ever since he’d started antidepressants his bladder had shrunk to being thissmall and he had to leave the stage to go to the bathroom, and then the crowd was asked who wanted to get a tattoo on stage and the whole place raised a hand. One girl went up, got branded, and then bbno$ jumped back into party mode and resumed spitting lyrics.

The night was just super energetic and the crowd was totally into it. During the show person after person spilled out into the lobby soaked in sweat, and then pushed their way back in for more fun. And it wasn’t just kids there, but what looked like lots of late 40s dudes reliving their SAE frat party days, plus fans dressed as furries, and swooning women at the barricade.
