Almost Monday

The stage of Brick and Mortar Music Hall was home to Almost Monday on February 21, an intimate platform for an indie pop band with big energy and a big sound. The venue was packed with a young crowd who were happy to be there dancing and singing along with the band on this second to last stop from the end of the north American leg of their Dive tour.

Vocalist Dawson Daugherty, bassist Luke Fabry, guitarist Cole Clisby, and drummer Rafael Vidal played a 19-song set that began with “Dive” and moved quickly into recent alternative Billboard chart-topper “Can’t Slow Down,” which got people really dancing. Other favorites included “She Likes Sports” and “Broken People,” which should be a staple on playlists globally. Towards the end of the night Daugherty took a Polaroid of the crowd, apparently a tradition at each show, which the audience loved. Then he talked about how life goes by quickly and how being in the moment is all we really have, and then the band broke into “Life Goes By” to end the night.

Opener Adrian Lyles kicked off the night with his 3-piece band and was full of positive energy, gratefulness, and talent. Some in the audience were there specifically for him and he didn’t disappoint, even going the extra mile and spending time at merch talking to fans after his set.

Almost Monday finished their North American tour in Los Angeles but picks up again fast in Spain on March 1 and moves at lightning speed through Europe with a March 29 finish in Ireland. Check them out for a great night of music – all the latest can be found at www.almostmonday.com.
