In a flurry of flashing lights and sirens, Beartooth descended on Hard Rock Live in Sacramento, setting the stage for a night of metal mayhem. Lead vocalist Caleb Shomo’s commanding presence was felt from the moment he stepped onto the stage, standing front and center as the crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers.
Launching into their set with the infectious energy of “Sunshine!” from their latest offering The Surface (2023), Beartooth wasted no time in unleashing their signature blend of aggression and melody. Bathed in light that illuminated the venue like a beacon of raw power, the band’s performance was electrifying. Yellow confetti rained down, the band rocked, and the crowd took it all in and screamed it back.
Transitioning from one adrenaline-fueled anthem to the next, Beartooth delivered a masterclass in modern metal with tracks like “The Past Is Dead” and “Bad Listener.” But it was Caleb Shomo’s stripped-down rendition of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” that provided a poignant moment of introspection amidst the chaos, showcasing the band’s versatility and emotional depth.
Comprised of Caleb Shomo, Oshie Bichar, Zach Huston, Will Deely, and Connor Denis, Beartooth’s lineup boasts a long line of talent and experience. Since their formation in 2012, they’ve solidified their status as heavy music heavyweights, with acclaimed albums like Disgusting (2014), Aggressive (2016), and Below (2021), earning them a dedicated following around the globe.
Throughout their 15-song set, Beartooth spared no expense in delivering a spectacle to remember, complete with costume changes, stunning visuals, and the raining confetti. Their performance was as tight as it was explosive, with each member firing on all cylinders and leaving the crowd in awe of their skill and precision. As they closed out the night with fan favorites “Riptide” and “In Between,” it was clear that Beartooth left its mark on Sacramento’s fans, solidifying their status as one of the most formidable forces in modern metal.
